Where it all started...

It all started in the game I loved, Spellbreak... I was getting comfortable in a competitive environment & knew that this would be the game that I could start that journey in.
I wanted to do something cute and different while finding a way to simultaneously hide my voice from the internet because I honestly just despise my voice. That's when a friend at the time named Googie, gave me my 1st model, Lilith Squidling. Based on the character from Darkstalkers fused into Splatoon Inkling it was a very different approach then what I initially planned but it worked out wonderfully. As a streamer I used clownfish at first (later adapting VoiceMod) and streamed late night practice because there was usually no-one I would want to watch still live. This first clip here was one of the first iterations of this setup [rough audio & such but  I had to start somewhere]
As this time period moved forward, I dominated these lobbies and people started coming from in-game. It felt like hosting Smash sessions all over again with players coming to challenge me, meanwhile I was just very focused on learning all the different aspects of the game & improving. Over time I started beating Top players who stepped in, raising my confidence to start trying to challenge them during the day on stream. Let's say, I made quite an impression on some of these people. I started doing well in scrims & then competitions. I also did some side events and fun viewer game activities on top of it & started finding my entertaining side of my content. It was around this time I also got an upgrade to my first custom commissioned model, Marla Squidling, based on the Bewitching Glimmer "Marla" outfit + my squidling. I just want to say right now before things got hard that I had some incredible support from some incredible people and I wouldn't be here without y'all, Thank you so much.
My PC was barely able to stream and play so I usually only streamed casual play / practice & kept competitions for off-stream for better frames & stability. After my come up in chapter1, Chapter2 happened, it was an incredible experience from my PoV, intense matches, the drive to become the best & a feeling of being on top of the world that I can't even describe. Everything felt like it was all leading somewhere & that I could be part of something great. Unfortunately, Spellbreak continued to fall off due to many various reasons, I made the time spent as great as it could be & it was still one of the most fun eras of my time in gaming. It's a point I time I always reference because I worked very hard to achieve this goal.

Hitting Legend Mix

Hitting Rank#1 Global was an incredible moment in time. I made the tweet and it went viral to even Spellbreak & SpellbreakJP Tweeting about me (A developer even confirmed in DMs that I was indeed the #1 & 1st Legend Rank in the entire world because there wasn't an in-game leaderboard). It was a moment in time I will never forget because it was my first time making a direct impact on the entire world.
At this point I started constructing a community leaderboard (which was very difficult to make, I tracked all the players I fought and added every skilled player to my friends list possible. I would track their ranks from my friends list while keeping an eye out for players I knew where high ranked but not on my friends list at the time/really off the radar players. I would find them in-game, via community outlets like twitch, discord, posting on social media about their ranking, etc. Then would message them every week to get an update on their stats) this was not only track my progress but others who wanted to make their mark in the ranked mode. I was doing my Duty as the #1 player ~

Legend Grind Mix 1

When I hit #1 Global everything truly changed, everyone wanted me to stream more. I was still being entertaining while maintaining top level performances in game. At this time my streams were at their peaks in terms of growth & performance. I streamed more but it came with its own challenges.
I streamed on and off at first mostly with a focus on playing to rank up rather than streaming & being entertaining. It was very difficult to stream some days due to the intensity of the lobbies + my PC performance + my personal performance fluctuating due to many factors I had to do it at my own pace.

"My Sickest Mix" #1 Legend

The PC was doing worse and worse, my gameplay was suffering many factors [PC, Mental of being #1, Stream Snipers] until eventually my PC ended up blowing up frying the motherboard.
SB LEGEND RANK CH2 - FINAL RESULTS
I managed to hold onto Rank1 despite a week of no PC playing off various systems in order to rank up. In this week, I was able to get a rental PC to put me back on track. My momentum unfortunately stopped though, the replacement had a few issues which kept me from streaming at good settings, I was basically able to continue where I left off but not able to actually upgrade PC & stream performance. Not being able to play the game under the same playable conditions forced me to take a hiatus which ended up causing my schedule to vanish.
I streamed on and off in various titles after Spellbreak CH2 (Naraka, Halo, FF14, Ect.) but came back to Spellbreak for the holidays and had such a warm welcome that despite my PC performance issues I pushed thru them in order to be where I belonged with my community. This era unfortunately didn't last long as despite everything I tried I just could not improve the things necessary to stream. I also wanted to improve my VoiceMod quality at this time.

Before my story can continue...

Post CH3 era is where things really got difficult. The community stayed strong regardless of things phasing out and away. The meta continued to develop and the skilled players continued to push the game further. When I took a break I was at the peak of the game and didn't really have the drive to push things further but when I came back post CH3 the meta continued to develop and the players had so much energy.
It motivated me to come back and pick things up where I left off, I was still one of the best players but things shifted that I had to adapt to in order to really be considered the best player again. I wasn't doing as well as I used to and was losing due to being behind on some of the dynamics of the meta shift but I was adapting quickly.
At this point I gathered the community together to form the SGC and give the game a new home for the community to have things to look forward to. I figured since the developers weren't going to do stuff with the game that we had to take it into our own hands to make something great out of it. We ended up hosting some of the best tournaments the game ever got to see with the highest levels of gameplay the game could provide throughout it's entire lifespan. It was an incredible experience to create and be part of.
Despite all the great days & success, the game was just down-trending, nothing I could do would stop it. We had sponsored events, I was actively reaching out to new organizations & gaming establishments in hopes of creating a new network for the game to push into the mainstream.
In the end When I helped put together the SGC it gave the community a small boost but even then it wasn't enough. But regardless of that, it was overall a success, We gave the game life during one of it's deadest eras of it's lifespan.
The SGC TDM Major was the highest skill teams event in Spellbreak History. This event featured players that had surpassed the previous era's dominating forces and pushed the game to new levels. Everyone in the community but their all-in for this event and it was truely a special moment in time. The commentators, the spectators and the players all had so much hope and love for the game we just wanted to show the world. The VOD had over 2,500+ Views w/ over 100+ people watching the entirety of the tournament.
It was one of the greatest tournaments in all of Spellbreak. It felt surreal to help put it together, be a huge part of the storyline and end up winning the event with my dream team that I knew always had the potential to win the events. (Prior to this event I never got to team with Arctic/NOOBY. Those 4 events were I got 2nd every single tournament I did not get to play with them and had tried out various other skilled players substitute their spots but ultimately our team synergy was so strong they were the missing link I needed in order to win.)
Winning the 3v3 TDM Major was an incredible moment but unfortunately it was the last real peak moment of my career in Spellbreak. I helped host some nice events for SGC afterwards but at this point my efforts unfortunately were not enough to save the game. Around this time, I decided to go on a hiatus due to my PC still not performing well with streaming + not having anything I felt comfortable streaming.
Following this, The developers of Proletariat announced the Spellbreak's servers will be shutting down happening in early 2023, the next day Activision Blizzard announced acquiring Proletariat to work on WoW. This news hit hard, to a point that I honestly still have not fully recovered from in some ways due to how much I loved the game. With Spellbreak's demise I knew it was time to start really pushing in other games because I knew I had the skill to do well now. I had to beat many extremely talented, deadly cracked players from many different game backgrounds in Spellbreak. Knowing that it is possible if I put in the effort, I could maybe break a barrier and start a new journey in different games.
My Goodbye SB Post ~ RIP Spellbreak
See: Esports + Gaming"Current Objectives" to see my plan as a competitive player. Regardless of the results of these endeavors, I will be playing competitive more so for fun content rather then trying to be the best, but I will still want to do well :) For collaborations, sponsorship & other inquiries email me at KairiCaitlyn@gmail.com
