The start of this next chapter of the journey began with the launch of Splitgate2. The 3rd playtest into Launch happened in the beginning of the summer in June. We had a really incredible time with this game! We met a lot of awesome people & had a lot of fun with the game.
I really enjoy this game because it feels like a smoother Halo Infinite while also offering the Portals which offered very dynamic ways to play. The game is honestly really good and another hidden gem on the market. The Gunplay & Hit reg felt incredible, the movement felt so smooth, the maps felt great. I look forward to seeing where this game goes because I really enjoy it & they just need to figure out how to make the general public resonate with it.
What really bothers me about the launch was all the nonsense going on in the BG with public reception on the game & all sorts of gameplay decision issues that lead to the game just not taking off. I started to see negative stigma and it was really bumming me out because I really enjoyed the game & saw that "new game syndrome" (what I call this typical cycle of a new game launch detrend) was happening. My Channel did so well with this game too so it really was making me think about things.
I was unsure of what to do, then out of nowhere MechaBREAK released and was popping off. I saw the opportunity to avoid the downfall & be part of another hype launch. This was a really tough decision that ended up working out very well. I felt the tides.
I will be back on Splitgate2 in the future when they do more playtests & re-launch the game. Going to show this game love when the time is right & always have some love for it.
MechaBREAK Release
The next wave that would be MechaBREAK felt like it came out of nowhere. My first day went really well and my channel immediately bounced back! This was the cool Mecha-based 3rd Person Action Combat/Shooter that we got to try earlier this year! It's a really unique hidden gem for people who like dynamic action combat!
We had an awesome showcase with the game which led to us getting involved with playing ranked mode. I was doing well enough and the game felt comfortable enough for me to want to take a shot at the ranked ladder. I ended up doing really well, climbing up into Geneal & Champion (mostly solo but I did team up here and there) and eventually peaking Rank94NA Indestructible as one of the top Welkin players in the game.
Welkin was a very interesting character to me as it was something different what I usually play in many aspects. Being a Melee based Striker with Shields, a Spin to Win Attack [which is something I never really used in most games] & a more bruiser tank style class it was something really different but felt comfortable to play due to how the interactions felt [this character felt like stoneshaper from Spellbreak with the way the swings worked between the Dive Attack and also using the right click rockets which felt like using fireballs.]
This game was an interesting experience because it was a different game style & theme then what I am used to. It was a lot of fun I just didn't feel it was something I fully commit to but rather just highlight and mess with when I feel like it. The game is different but cool. Also Qs were an issue due to new game syndrome and We will likely get another arc with this game when PS release happens.
Fate Trigger Playtest
The 2nd Fate Trigger Playtest happened toward the end of July! We hopped on and got some Ws. Very cute game. Good times!
I didn't do much Fate Trigger this time around, It's a neat game (going to do well on mobile I'm sure), just wasn't getting a lot of traction with it and felt a bit disconnected from that game & community. It's a more tactful game which requires more defense/camping which isn't my style of play (I try to be aggro for action and entertainment but it's hard to in a quick ttk game). Still something we will mess with on the side in the future, cute game.
Battlefield 6 Playtest
We saw the free Battlefield 6 playtest and figured to give it a go. It was a refreshing experience to dip back into a more standard military shooter while also experiencing a new series & more casual mode with the big team battle dynamics the game focuses on. I really enjoyed doing BTB in Halo back in the day for casual play after grinding ranked 4s and such. BF6 offered a similar feeling but within a different genre of FPS. I had a lot of fun playing it, running and gunning with the assualt rifle & shotgun. It was a fun time & I met a few cool people while playing it!
This along with Splitgate really had me thinking about Halo again, which is foreshadowing for what's to come later. Halo is where it all began for me but was something I never had an opprotunity to pursue.
Blue Protocol Release!
Blue Protocol Star Resonance is a Remake of the original Blue Protocol that never released globally. It's an extremely beautiful anime MMORPG. We went on an adventure with it and had some fun going through the story and doing some dungeons with friends. It's hard for me to do content like this so I haven't done too much of it so far, but want to have this as a fun chill game to do when trying to relax or tired.
Gears of War: Reloaded Release!
Then the Remaster for the original Gears of War came out - Gears of War: Reloaded. It was a really fun time revisiting the multiplayer and campaign! GoW was the first third person shooter I ever played so it was a really refreshing experience playing it again. I didn't realize back then that TPS would end up being my specialty (most FPS don't vibe due to my Halo background). This was a really fun stop even though it was something more niche, I felt obligated to play it.
